Community

At GM Food Packaging, we recognise that responsible business extends beyond the products we supply and the service we deliver.

Charitable Giving

Our commitment to environmental, social and governance responsibility extends beyond sustainable products and ethical business practices. We give back to the community too. That’s why we make a monthly donation to The Grace Trust, a UK charity dedicated to transforming lives through meaningful support and charitable funding.

The Grace Trust supports a wide range of causes, including life‑saving medical research, education, humanitarian aid and essential services such as emergency response and care initiatives for those in need. By supporting hundreds of charities and projects that benefit people and communities across the country, The Grace Trust helps ensure that our contributions have a lasting, positive impact. We’re proud to partner with them and help further their mission of promoting dignity, relief and opportunity for individuals and families facing hardship.

The Blake Group Foundation

As part of the Blake Group, at GM Food Packaging, we are committed to making a difference in the world we live in. Not only experts in food packaging, but we are also about so much more.

Education, and indeed, literacy, is one cause particularly close to our hearts, as closely linked with letter writing and communication. Throughout the world, millions of children are suffering lives of poverty, neglect and hardship - something that is largely unrecognised, and so they continue to be denied the necessities of life such as a good education. According to UNICEF figures, a staggering 20% of the world’s child population will never attend school.

At GM Food Packaging, we are passionate about having an impact on the lives of these children and providing a solution to meet their needs. To do this, we have partnered with the School In A Bag charity, whose ingenious SchoolBag solution has helped thousands of children across the globe.

Great North Run

We are proud to support the well-being and charitable ambitions of our team by offering Great North Run membership to all members of staff. This initiative enables our colleagues to take part in one of the UK’s most recognised fundraising events, raising vital funds for charities that have directly impacted their own lives and the lives of those close to them. By covering membership and encouraging participation, we aim to empower our people to turn personal experiences into positive action, supporting causes that matter most to them while strengthening our shared commitment to social responsibility.

GM provides complimentary lunches and beverages every day. This benefit not only saves employees time and money but also makes sure that our staff have a break and can get something to eat.

AXA health

Our free healthcare scheme ensures that staff members have access to medical services without a financial burden. This prioritises their well-being and contributes to a healthier workforce.

Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)

Our EAP offers confidential
counselling and support services to staff, helping them manage personal and work-related challenges effectively.

Social Highlights

Throughout the year, GM Food Packaging delivers a structured programme of internal Sales Promotion Days and team-based challenges designed to strengthen engagement, encourage collaboration and maintain a dynamic working environment. These initiatives are carefully developed to boost morale, promote healthy competition and reinforce a strong sense of unity across the business.

Examples include our Poker Week, a themed sales promotion campaign that brings colleagues together in friendly competition, with teams working collaboratively to achieve shared performance goals.

We also participate in a monthly Step Challenge, competing against other companies within the Blake Group to achieve the highest average step count. This initiative not only promotes well-being and healthy habits, but also strengthens inter-company relationships, with a prize awarded to the winning team. Through these activities, we continue to foster a motivated, connected and high-performing workforce.
